Canepina – Gambero rosso puts the spotlight on Canepina thanks to its particular hemp hay. In the April issue of the food and wine monthly, in fact, hemp and the quality made in Tuscia are the protagonists.
After the recent success on the television show "La Prova del Cuoco", the young gastronome Felice Arletti, owner of the Agriristoro "Il Calice e la Stella" in Canepina, once again conquers national prominence with its specialty, Canepinese hemp hay, and the “I love Canapina” project, the first edition of the Provincial Hemp Fair which will take place on May 21st and 22nd in the Cimino town.
Arletti is the first and so far only Italian restaurateur to have dedicated an entire menu to hemp, the plant which also gave its name to Canepina, from appetizers to desserts, while as an agricultural company he will soon start sowing his personal plant cultivation.
On a journey between ravines, water and volcano, Gambero rosso describes how the territory tries to counter the crisis by redesigning its identity. In addition to hemp, the magazine focuses on other local companies and underlines the quality of the flours of the Capati company and its particular attention to strictly stone-ground gluten-free flours, the ricotta and meats of Andrea Pellegrini, the organic cheeses of Roberto and Duilio and the Tuscia flake with flowered rind from the Chiodetti dairy.
Also in the monthly magazine we talk about a new generation and very recent product: Borgia beer, dedicated to Pope Alexander VI, an English-style brewery with a 500 liter system, a prototype of Stefano Gavazzi who together with Monica, Alessandro and Roberto Marrone manages the Stappo wine shop in Civita Castellana.
Finishing on a sweet note, Gambero Rosso highlights the delicacies of the Morelli family with their son Leonardo who shows in his gastronomy the inevitable frittelloni of Civita Castellana and the confectionery and cultural contaminations of the Isanti pastry shop in Corchiano, where Emanuele and Monia (his wife ) produce desserts including music, books and tastings based only on local and national excellence.
